Indonesia For World Cup 2018

According the news from detiksport, Indonesia has sent a proposal to be the host of World Cup for 2018 or 2022. What a surprising news! As Indonesian, I don’t know, should I be happy or surprise or something else. This decision, which has been made by PSSI (Indonesian Football Association), is really confusing and surprising for most of Indonesian, include the confused me.

But well, let me to analyze how proper our country can run a big event like World Cup. First, it will take lots of stadiums, security officers, polices, hotels,  and of course, money. Our country will be a super big country at least for one month, all the world will see us, see our country and will write about us everyday. All of the people around the world will come together in a place, exactly in our country named Indonesia.

OK, I have no doubt about the accomodation and PSSI said that they will build lots of stadiums to run the World Cup (if FIFA chooses us as the host), but how about the safety? Can Indonesia guarantee about the safety? Remember that Indonesia has no good reputation about safety in the world. And remember about the local league, which is still really mess and inorder. Perhaps we have to say goodbye to our dream, to run the biggest football event in the world.

But then, there’s no wrong things if we want to dream, keep dreaming to run the FIFA World Cup, if I’m wrong, we will have it, but if I’m right, we won’t ever run it, believe me. I absolutely would be happy if we could have it in our country and time to prove that Indonesia is a good country and really reasonable to run out a big event. We had proven to the world that we were reasonable ran the 2007 Asian Cup.

Cheers and good night everybody.

I Dig My Memory…

It has been one month since the new year. There were so many new things for me, but in fact, they weren’t new. They were the answer of my own question in my mind, “Where were my memories go? Did they miss or still leave in my mind?”

  1. I went to my hometown, Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat, for the first time since I moved to Jakarta four and half years ago. The city still looks same, read my older post about my trip to my lovely hometown.
  2. I often chat with my high school friends, something that I didn’t use before.
  3. I went to hang out with my old friend, he’s been my friend since we were little kids, he still looks same, but now he’s fatter than the last time I saw him, four and half years ago when we attended to farewell party at our high school.
  4. Realized or not, I guess I have developed my own anxiety about my future. I am being afraid to something that not really necessary. It looks like I have been paranoid of something that I can’t explain. Perhaps I need to meet psychiatry. But I hope I don’t need to meet him/her.
  5. For the first time, my boss has delegated me a really really hard task, honestly they were my friend’s task but she is in vacation now, so I manage all of her tasks. I just want to show my best and I believe I can manage them well until next week (my friends will come back to office in the beginning of February, OMG).

So those are 5 major points for this month. And then, tomorrow is Chinese New Year. Happy Chinese New Year everybody. Wish this year would be better than last, would bring us joyful, happiness, health, and richness. Thanks for reading and good night everybody.

Welcomed By Rain

After spending 5 days in my hometown, finally I arrived to my routine activities in Jakarta. Some colleagues joked me that they were waiting for me, especially the stuffs that I would bring to them at the first day of working after my holidays. I brought them some foods and looked that they loved it. I was quite happy to see it that I have bought something right to them.

I landed at Jakarta last night at 6:00 PM, welcomed by heavy rain, but fortunately I did not be annoyed by flood, which had poured several areas at our town.

My hometown, Pontianak, placed at West Kalimantan, hasn’t changed for several years. Last time I went there before this year was in 2004, when I was in senior high. The city still the same, and I took a look to my old house, now it looks messy and dirty. The new owner perhaps doesn’t have enough time to taking care the home.

Finally, these some of my captures during my trip to my hometown. Wish I could go back to this town again.

I enjoyed my time there so Thanks God for the time that You gave to me. It was full of happiness, joyful, and blessed days. Good afternoon everybody.

NB: We are having anxiety about flood again, which has attacked the North Jakarta especially the area of Kelapa Gading, some of my office colleagues didn’t come to office yesterday and today. Hopefully this situation will end soon and won’t annoy our daily activities.

Fourth Day of The New Year

I have made some changes of this blog, especially the appearance. But it’s not necessary to talk about the appearance of this blog. Honestly I changed it because the new year has come, I just want to update my blog in the fourth day of new year, and honestly I’ve got nothing to write about, just want to post something first in the new year.

OK, a lot of my high school friends intend to make a reunion by the end of this year (December 31, 2009). It means that we have about 12 months to re-arrange and discussion about it. But since when they really want to realize it? I believe our brain is trained to focus at our work and main life, not for any silly or stupid event like that. I just want to follow, just taking participate but I don’t want to be involved at the arranging of event (event organizer).

Sounds good but I don’t think the time is right. By the end of the year, a lot of my friends don’t have free time and if we get holiday, it will be for one day only. Such as me and myself, I only get holiday if the calendar is written as holiday. Else, I don’t get holiday.

Finally I just want to wait what it is going to be.

Well, today will be such a boring day since I’ve got nothing to do. Finally, happy new year again and let’s hope this year would be better for all of us.

NB: tomorrow many of my friends will come back from holiday, perhaps they will bring us many kinds of foods. =p

Flashback of 2008

The complicated year, 2008, has given me so many things, both of good and bad things. For my very first time review of the year, let me to tell you what had happened during 2008 year, which will be ended by tomorrow’s night, approximately within 26 hours remaining.

1. On January 14, 2008, I received my graduation after defending my thesis title, “Web Based Decision Support System for Hypertension Patients Handling”. Ended my 16.5 years of formal education, since my first year in kindergarten, 1991.

2. One month later, February 6, 2008, I officially graduated and received my degree in yudicium. Whereas I got “B” for my thesis mark, I didn’t feel sad or upset. That was my effort.

3. I attended to graduation ceremony (May 8, 2008 ) at Jakarta Convention Centre. That was the last time I met my university friends (only 7 from my class).

4. On June 2, I got my first job as programmer at one of IT company in Jakarta. I found myself was quite hard to adapt with the new environment and situation, especially for Object Oriented Programming, I haven’t ever been strong in this point.

5. On July, I had a fight with my university friends, after I wrote the story of my case when I was in university, my friends couldn’t accept it all, still left something in my mind, I wonder I wrote about my lecturer but she didn’t answer anything, and many of my university friends gave me shocked critics. Finally I gave up, I didn’t reply or answer anything else until now. I remembered the slogan, “Silence is gold”

6. On August, my boss moved me to another position in my office, from programmer to technical support. I have been being in my position until now. I get technical support  facilities, such as mobile phone and laptop. Thanks to my friend, you never get bored to teach me, though sometimes I am being so lazy and forget the things that you ever told me.

7. On December 2, I got better laptop, Compaq Presario V3000 (previously I used Lenovo Y400, which has problem with its power system and network port). Thanks to my boss, he lets me to use this laptop. Honestly, I really wanted it.

8. On December 16, for the first time I went out from my home in the midnight (11 PM) and went back home in the dawn (3 AM). To where? I went to the client, to fix their problem with my friend, but I didn’t do anything, my friend did it all until end.

I think those points are enough to tell you how bad or how good 2008 was. Although I had some good things, I ever had bad things too. At least, I have learned so many things from 2008, I believe I won’t repeat those mistakes again next year.

Happy New Year everyone, Happy long holiday for my colleagues, January 2, the office will be so empty, surely.
